Process
Photography is a way of recreating the world around us. It innately manipulates and changes the scenes that it portrays. Sometimes subtle grain creeps in, other times a fast shutter speed freezes a runner in motion or black and white film might bring out brilliant tones while eliminating a scene’s true color.
For my large-format panorama photographs I take many pictures of a scene, usually from a specific vantage point, and meld them into a single photograph. This process recreates the scene as it appears in my mind’s eye - bringing my vision to life in a way that would not otherwise be possible. It allows me to go beyond the limitations of traditional photography, to have multiple points of focus, and many decisive moments.
This process also enables me to print the photographs larger and at higher resolution than would otherwise be possible, helping to immerse the viewer in the scene, taking the journey that has been created in front of them.
